DoverPhila Celebrates Member Appreciation with $1,000 Donation

DoverPhila announces recipient of $1,000 donation following a community-wide vote held in celebration of Member Appreciation Month in August.

DoverPhila Federal Credit Union (DPFCU) is pleased to announce the Tuscarawas County Humane Society as the recipient of a $1,000 donation following a community-wide vote held in celebration of Member Appreciation Month in August.

The initiative was created as a way for DPFCU to give back to the community while also shining a spotlight on local organizations making a positive impact throughout Tuscarawas County.

To kick off the initiative, credit union employees nominated five local nonprofit organizations whose work is making a difference in the lives of people and animals throughout the community.

Throughout August, members of the credit union and the community were invited to vote for one of the five organizations to receive a $1,000 donation from DPFCU. More than 1,300 votes were submitted, giving the community an opportunity to learn more about the nominated organizations, recognize the important work they do, and help determine where DPFCU could make an additional impact.

After the votes were counted, the Tuscarawas County Humane Society received the most votes and was selected to receive the $1,000 donation. This local nonprofit organization focuses on rescuing the abused, abandoned, and neglected animals of Tuscarawas County.

“Member Appreciation Month is an opportunity for us to celebrate our members, but we also wanted to use it as a way to give back to the community we all call home,” said Jason Garner, Chief Executive Officer of DPFCU. “By highlighting five local organizations and opening the vote to the entire community, we were able to bring greater awareness to the important work these organizations are doing while giving our members and neighbors a voice in where we could make a difference. We’re pleased to support the Tuscarawas County Humane Society and the positive impact they continue to make in our community.”

“We are incredibly grateful to the customers and staff of DoverPhila Federal Credit Union for their generous $1,000 donation,” said Haley Predragovich, Shelter Director of Tuscarawas County Humane Society. “This has been a daunting year for TCHS, with large hoarding cases, a seemingly never-ending kitten season, and fewer adoptions. This donation will go directly toward caring for the abused, abandoned, and neglected animals of Tuscarawas County, and will help us continue our mission of giving every animal the care and second chance they deserve.”

DoverPhila Federal Credit Union thanks everyone who participated in the voting and helped make the initiative a success. The credit union also recognizes all five nominated organizations for the important work they do and the positive impact they continue to have throughout Tuscarawas County
