DoverPhila Federal Credit Union donated $40,000 to the Union Hospital capital campaign to help build a new Emergency Center.
Union Hospital’s expansion increased the Emergency Center’s capacity to 38 rooms – up from 30, created more specialized areas, granted efficient access to surgery and radiology departments, produced a fast-track zone within the center to help expedite acute injury patients, re-designed nursing stations for direct patient oversight, and provided separate entrances for walk-in patients and for patients who arrive by ambulance. Overall, the Emergency Center is currently seeing 25% more patient visits than it was designed for 23 years ago.
