DoverPhila Celebrates 70 Years with Kindness Campaign

DoverPhila Federal Credit Union is celebrating 70 years of service with a Kindness Campaign scheduled for August 1st until the end of the year. The campaign aligns with the credit union’s philosophy of “people helping people.”

Nearly 100 credit union employees are volunteering their time throughout the Tuscarawas County community by working at the local food pantry, helping with children’s programs at local libraries, working concession stands for area sporting events that focus on helping a cause, hosting activities at senior centers and nursing homes, participating in canned food drives, supporting local businesses with random drawings, sponsoring community events, and more.

“We’re proud to have been able to serve Tuscarawas County for 70 years. To show our gratitude for this community’s support, we’ve decided to pay it forward with a kindness campaign,” said Jason Garner, CEO of DoverPhila Federal Credit Union. “We hope it inspires others to volunteer or help where they can in this wonderful community that we call home!”

The campaign kicks off with a school supply drive that benefits students in Tuscarawas County. From August 1st through August 19th, members can stop by any full-service DoverPhila location to donate.

A staple of the Tuscarawas County community since 1953, DoverPhila Federal Credit Union has given back $30 million to its members and community in the last 70 years. It was initially established as an employee credit union known as Warner & Swasey Employees Credit Union and later as Gradall Employees Credit Union. It’s grown into a community-chartered credit union with five full-service locations in Dover, New Philadelphia, Newcomerstown, and Uhrichsville. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Tuscarawas County can apply for membership.
